International Education Leadership Award This award is selected by the AASSA Board of Trustees and is given annually to an individual who has contributed to international education and to AASSA through significant contributions in each of the following areas: Leadership for learning--creativity in successfully meeting the needs of students in international schools Communication--strength in both personal and organizational communication Professionalism--constant improvement of administrative knowledge and skills, while providing professional development opportunities and motivation to others in the field of international education Enhancing AASSA--significant contributions to AASSA as an international organization
This award was created in 2006 and the recipients to date are: Distinguished Fellow of the Americas This award is given to heads of Full Member schools who have served in the AASSA region for five years in recognition of their contributions to international education and to the AASSA region. ![]() The Margaret Sanders Scholarship Award
Margaret Sanders, longtime friend of American/international education through her association with Walsworth Publishing Company, established a scholarship fund, the Margaret Sanders Foundation, to help graduates of our schools attend college. Four $5,000 scholarships are awarded each spring to graduating seniors at international schools who demonstrate persistence, motivation, resourcefulness, and acceptance of other cultures and points of view. Attendance at a 501C# university, academics, educational and vocational aspirations, financial need and involvement in journalism are also considered in the selection process. |
