![]() AASSA Conferences
One of AASSA’s main functions is to provide professional development of staff represented in our member schools in our region. To this end, we generally offer four conferences per year as detailed below: ![]() Business Managers' and Administrative Assistants' Institute:
This three-day conference takes place annually during the month of July in Miami and addresses topics of relevance to school business managers and administrative assistants. The conference is open to participants from Full Member, Invitational Member and non-member schools for differing registration fees. ![]() Board Governance Conference:
AASSA holds an annual conference during the month of September in Miami for Board Members and Heads of School to explore topics and governance training relevant to our international schools.
![]() Annual Educators' Conference:
The largest AASSA professional development event of the year is the annual conference held (generally in October) in South America. This conference features one and two-day pre-conference institutes for both teachers and administrators (i.e. heads of school, principals, curriculum coordinators, and other administrative positions) followed by an opening keynote evening and two full days of conference institutes and workshops. In an effort to best serve our schools on what is a large continent that is often costly to traverse, our Annual Educators’ Conference rotates around South America, with the conference being held one year in the north, the next in the south, and every third year in Brazil. ![]() Latin American Administrators' Conference:
This conference, held annually in early December in Atlanta, is the result of the organizational efforts of three organizations working in unison: AdvancEd, the Tri-Association and AASSA. The conference is aimed to meet the professional development and networking needs of the directors and principals of international schools throughout Latin America.
